Stacey Gilmore is a physical therapist who graduated from Yoga Illumined Teacher Training in 2013 at Castle Hill Yoga. We asked her what she gained from taking Yoga Illumined in an interview you can also read here

1) When did you graduate from Yoga Illumined?

Stacey Gilmore:  December 2013

2) What inspired you to take Yoga Illumined?

SG: I wanted to help spread overall wellness in the community and among the non-injured population. With yoga, I saw the chance to be able to offer a way to prevent the injuries I see on a daily basis as a physical therapist. I fell in love with every aspect of yoga from a physical standpoint and inside knew there was so much more to it than I had experienced thus far. Every time I found myself in yoga class, it was because I felt this pull in my heart to be there.  I wanted more, I wanted to know what that pull was…and I found it in Yoga Illumined!

3) What have you gained from the training?

SG:  The answer to what that pull was and more than I ever expected!  I have gained a deep understanding of wholeness. I am whole, we are all whole. In this busy world we live in, I also gained the ability to sit. To sit and be aware, to be quiet, to let go. I gained a true love for Sanskrit and an even deeper love for yoga than I thought possible. However, one of the most precious gifts from this training was the people I was surrounded by each weekend. Experiencing this soul searching journey brings people close, and those relationships will always be there! I think of Sumukhi (Kristina Lanuza)Zoe, and my classmates often and it brings such joy into my heart!

4) What advice would you have for others considering the training?

SG:  If you are thinking about doing the training, trust yourself! The thought has been placed there for a reason and there is nothing better you can do for yourself. Do it and you will fall in love with yoga -physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually!

And then I think of this…

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Ghandi
